Ivan Draws Comics

Hi Reader. Sorry I haven’t updated in a long while. I’ve been busy working full time. I’ll admit that I’ve been slacking off with my comics. I just want to let you know that I know that you know. Hopefully I’ll find the time to draw some more soon. In the meantime here’s a couple of drawings of some new characters I’ve been developing.

Wow, Syd has really sold out! He’s even doing commercials for crappy tinned food companies.

But seriously folks, this is my first foray into animated shorts. I wanted to make something that exemplifies my Flash skillz and advances my Sydney character at the same time. The music you hear was written by my good friend (and similarly last named) Alex Dickson.

I painted the backgrounds using some new software called Artrage, that I purchased recently after seeing how amazing the results were over at Sherm Cohen’s blog Cartoon Snap.

Hi web comic world. I decided to start my own weekly comic site. I’ll be drawing a few different strip series simultaneously- so expect to see a bit of variety!

The first strip features Sydney, a naive and lovable vagrant, and is aptly titled “Sydney.” Syd struggles with many ongoing problems including life on the streets, going hungry and trying to find a job he can hold for more than one strip. The character has appeared in a few adventure games and has had a few strips (of lesser quality) published in local street presses in Australia.

I have some more illustration and animation work over at my main page, as well as some games that I’ve made.
