KING GIZZARD AND THE LIZARD WIZARD - INTERIOR PEOPLE

Australia’s most prolific psychedelic rock group commissioned a clip for each track from their album Butterfly 3000. Their only brief was to include butterflies somehow.

I took this as an opportunity to make a fantasy sci-fi short film with a killer sound track. I found inspiration in Miyazaki’s Nausicaa film and comics, the art of French artist Moebius, the 1981 animated film Heavy Metal and the graphic novel Watchmen.
